California is not an easy place. It must be the Ani DiFranco version of the Woody Guthrie song that I've heard (or lived). If you ain't got the doh reh mi. I wrote a list of the reasons it took me three tries to live there - twice I left with my tail between my legs - but I deleted the list because it was enough to steal my identity. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Do_Re_Mi_(Woody_Guthrie_song)

Such an honest and telling article about the plight of young actors ) for me that means under 40) I joined Sag in 1979 and made good money in Sag commericials and network tv until about 2008 and thought aging was the major factor everything slowly dried up despite my credits . However I am blessed with 2 union pensions that I am pretty sure most of the Young membership will never see ( and that pension may dry up at this rate) I had generational help on the down payment on a house here . Your right . It is the only way to get ahead . This is truly the toughest time ever to be an actor or anyone middle class, no matter how hard you work at it. It takes 100-200 tapes not just to get pinned . Oregon is looking good to me . Please hang in there and I am Venmoing you. Sending love and healing energy.
