Reading this a week after the election... The mediocre White man won out of fear and desinformation... Seeing this from France (going on the same path with the same ingredients) is SOOOOOOO infuriating
America is like a link chart on the wall with strings that all lead back to a center that's labeled "white fragility". Whiteness as a social construct is a sand castle white people built and keep trying to "protect" it from an ocean that isn't even there because we're all actually in a sandbox. Just a bunch of racists who insist on tilting at windmills.
it's so stupid that ppl can't see the 'but i couldn't have lost' thing is just cowardice, refusal to learn, and deeply deeply shltty privilege. how. is. this. not. obvious.
i voted early by mail too (thanks california), phone banked with evp, helped work friends figure out the ballot props, and bugged my bestie from austin who's mail in ballot never arrived to tell her low-propensity friends to vote (and she did, bc she couldn't fly home last minute to vote).
high five to everyone who voted and plans to start fighting for more progress directly after the election. hoping it's the less terrifying version of that fight.
thanks for helping keep us all sane and also commiserating on the idiocy of everything.
every time i panic i have to remind myself it's not the vote that is the main work, it's what we do every day. i had a medical thing come up and had to cancel a silent retreat away this week (gdmmt), so my project for the next few days is making a list of issues i care about and a list of organizations that are already doing excellent work in the direction i want so i have a to-do list for after tomorrow regardless that i can share w my people. trying to get like, 10, so it's not overwhelming but folks have good options.

Thank you for getting out the vote and understanding that this country will and has always moved forward.
